With more than one-half of the units already sold, 4200 Laclede Lofts offer an ideal location in the heart of the Central West
End. Allowing residents many great conveniences, these lofts are just a short stroll from many exceptional restaurants,
outdoor cafés, specialty and antique shops, theaters, nightlife and St. Louis area attractions.
From 1915 to 2001, the building served as the home for Luyties Homeopathic Pharmacy Company, which is one of the world's
largest producers of homeopathic remedies. Today, this historic three-story art deco building with a Greek Rival entrance
houses 18 units ranging in size from 1,300 to 4,000-plus square feet. Each unit features 16- to 18-foot ceilings, 12-foot by
12-foot operable, energy efficient windows, and hardwood floors. This property also includes closed circuit TV, an attached
35-car garage, a modern exercise room and pool access.
Several floor plans are available including custom layouts. Each unit features a private balcony, terrace or courtyard. A
common rooftop terrace provides views of both the Central West End and the downtown skyline.
Andrew Murphy, president of AM Development, specializes in design, construction and management of high-end custom homes.
With 4200 Laclede, Murphy found his niche in offering the idea of custom construction to his condominium clientele. Rather
than limiting this market to "cookie cutter" floor plans and furnishings, Murphy feels this development offers the caliber of
options one would find only when building high-end custom homes.
"Our goal is to provide the buyers with style, sophistication and convenience while allowing them the flexibility to
customize their units according to their specific tastes and needs," says Murphy. "Maintaining some of the historical charm of
the building is also important to us," he adds. "We're restoring some of the buildings original features which will be used in
the common areas of the building."
Murphy's grandfather, Forrest Murphy, purchased Luyties Pharmaceutical and 4200 Laclede in the 1960s. The company remained
in the family until it was sold in the early 1990s. When the building became available for sale in 2001, Murphy jumped at the
chance to purchase it with the idea of building high-end lofts.
Units range in price from $399,900 to over $1,000,000. For additional information or to schedule an appointment, contact
